Rumination is the process of continuing to think about a situation that upset you. You’re not making any progress towards coming up with a solution, but you keep thinking about it anyway. You think through all the details repeatedly, even though it just seems to upset you more and more. It’s almost like you can’t stop yourself. Have you ever been looking for a solution to a problem, and you think about it over and over again? After a while, you can’t seem to get it out of your mind.
